Happy 200 Posts!
This post is my two-hundredth since I began on February 29, 2012. So far there have been 68,401 visits to the blog. There have been 628 comments, just shy of 1%. But still we soldier on.
I went out to paint at Rawson's Head today and made this 8" x 12" (20x30cm) plein-air study. For some reason the blue in this photo is a bit more electric than in the painting. Actually, I also made a second one, but that's not fully-baked. I'll post it another time.
This coming Thursday, June 12th (5-8 p.m.), I'll be at the annual Catalogue Show at my Boston gallery (Quidley&Co, 38 Newbury Street, Boston, MA). This show features a new work by each of the gallery's artists. The paintings are in a catalogue, hence the name of the show.
This year, in addition to my new painting, Quidley will also be showing my painting The Door to the Golden Age. If you haven't seen it in person yet, you may want to come check it out before it's off to Quidley on Nantucket. Here it is, all 7-feet (2m) of it.
If you live near Boston, and you're a blog, Instagram, or Facebook follower whom I haven't met, I'd be especially pleased if you'd stop by and introduce yourself.
I look forward to seeing everyone.

Those 200 posts have been like GOLD to we few aspiring landscape painters and, I must admit, that before starting any new painting I usually troll through the past posts for inspiration. Often 'no comment' is simply a reflection that you have explained yourself to the point where further comment is superfluous. You are definitely NOT posting to the great void. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bruce. I read these blogs religiously and learn so much from them so please do continue. And I will look forward to seeing the Door to the Golden Age on Nantucket…glad to hear you are shipping it there as I missed it in New York. Seeing it will put me all the more in the mood for our upcoming trip to Holland. Keep the blogs coming!
ReplyDeleteYep, what they said! Thanks and congrats!
ReplyDeleteMerci, Jon!
